In 1918, Toichiro Nakashima founded NAKASHIMATO, the company that would go on to found Kewpie Corporation and AOHATA Corporation. The business we have promoted ever since represents the cherished desire of our founder.

Our corporate motto “RAKU-GYOU-KAI-ETSU” expresses our approach to work—the idea that people who have the same ambitions enjoy working together, endure struggles together and rejoice together. Over the more the 100 years of its history, NAKASHIMATO has continued to uphold our founder’s legacy, represented by his teachings “act on moral principles, strive for originality and ingenuity, and look after parent’s wellbeing,” and if we make our utmost efforts while remaining humble, “the world is fairer than you imagine.”

At present, NAKASHIMATO positions Food, Wine, IT and Asset management as its four core businesses. We aim to create new opportunities and achieve sound growth through collaborations with Kewpie Corporation, AOHATA Corporation and other Group companies, as well as through proactive overseas expansion and start-up company support and collaborations.

Faced with enormous and unprecedented changes in society and our lives due the impacts of the pandemic and climate change, companies are also required to make substantial changes. In response to these turbulent times, we will continue cultivating a corporate culture with abundant diversity that remains flexible and open.

Going forward, NAKASHIMATO will fulfill its role as a bridge connecting Japan and the world as we further develop food culture.
